Family Video Contest

The Hunter Education Department has created a fun and educational video contests:

Welcome to the backcountry toolkit and kick-off video contest.

One of the core values of Hunter Education is the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next. Since the kids are home from school right now, the Hunter Education team is hosting a contest for families to make their own outdoor skills video.

Share an outdoor safety skill, trick or tip; your favorite wild game recipe, meat care or hunting technique; or anything else that helps people enjoy the outdoors in a safe and respectful way.

To enter the contest, please use Drop Box or Google Drive to email your 3-minute submission to Jim.Welsh@gov.yk.ca by May 15, 2020.

We will review and post the videos.

And, the video with the most views will receive a wilderness survival kit and private lesson from Bushcraft Yukon courtesy of Yukon Fish & Game Association.

To start the contest, I would like to introduce Hannah and Luke Welsh with their video on fire starting skills. Have fun and share your outdoor knowledge.
