2006 WILD GAME BANQUET & AWARDS
The 2006 Yukon Fish and Game Association annual awards night and banquet was held January 21nd at the High Country Inn Convention. Seating was set for 300 people and even with all the displays and silent auction items it was very comfortable for the 280 plus people that attended.
Thanks to the banquet committee for their hard work the events were a success. Directors Chad Sjodin, Jason Ivens, Shane Nastrom, Pat Sydenham, Aaron Koss-Young, Al Porter, and YFGA members Paul Deuling and John Carney in particular, did much of the organization with a lot of help from our office manager Amoree Bruntlett.
Roy Ness did a great job as Master of Ceremonies in spite of the problems with the speaker system not working as well as hoped for the large space.
The presentation of the annual Alex Van Bibber Hunter Education and Ethic Development Award was presented by Larry Leigh . This year Andy Preto & SASE 9 program at Porter Creek Secondary School received the award.
The Clay Pugh Memorial Award was presented by Wolf Riedl on behalf of the Yukon Fish and Game Association. The 2005 recipients are Paul and Jolene Jacobs.
Everyone enjoyed the music and many danced to the swing tunes of the Swamp Donkeys.
Thanks to everyone who came out and bought all the auction items. The Association appreciates the generosity of members and businesses that support our work.
